Admissions

Open to all children in the area

The school is open to accept all children in the area. Owing to limited facilities and resources the school is restricted in the number of pupils it can accept.

Preference to our own Kindergarten children will be given for entry to Class one. On entrance into the school, an indemnity form is to be signed by parents or guardians.

The school wishes to promote a bridge between cultures in a balanced and progressive way.

The interview procedure

Children can only be accepted after going through the whole interview and admission process.

The teacher will read through the forms and become familiar with the general situation of the child before interview.

In the interview, the teacher will seek to gain a fuller picture of the child’s development, health, education history, family life history and values and will record the comments and observations.

During the course of the interview the teacher will find the time to quietly converse with the child in order to gain a perspective of the child's individuality and temperament.

With young children the teacher will assess the child’s level of skill and an evaluation of their spatial orientation and dominance will be done. In pupils who have attended other schools, school reports or records from the previous school should be obtained.

“The need for imagination, a sense of truth, and a feeling of responsibility—these three forces are the very nerve of education.”

—Rudolf Steiner
